MEDITATION A Dream Come
True
Article
prepared by: Margaret Davis, Meditation Master
Years ago I was searching
relentlessly to satisfy an inner yearning. But a yearning for what? At the time
I couldn't put words to it; all I knew was that I was missing something and
that something was aching to be found and to be satisfied. Like many others I
started reading books and soon I was attending a workshop here, a seminar there
and then - I found it! And in Japan of all places. Some friends told me
about a woman who was teaching seminars on a regular basis in North America; the next seminar, however, just
happened to be in Japan. Of course I had no intention of
going but that inner yearning absolutely over whelmed me and, you guessed it, I
was soon on my way to Japan. I have never looked back.
The woman I met in Japan was the founder of the Turaya
System; a style conducive to the North American lifestyle. Through Turaya I
have found what it was that I was missing, what it was I was searching for all
of those years - myself ! I have learned to understand my physical body, to
read its messages, and to connect with my inner self to receive guidance in all
that I do. As a result I have obtained a beautiful, radiant state of health and
a wonderful peace of mind.
Turaya Meditation is more than
simply sitting in silence. It is a way of life; a way of living such that we
can find peace and harmony in all that we do. Although it is taught in a
seminar setting it is a process meant to be lived throughout your entire life.
Turaya will change you, your relationship to yourself, and your relationship to
everyone and everything you come into contact with. A typical seminar commences
with a talk by the Turaya Master followed by a meditation. The dialogue is
important for that is when you are taught how to prepare yourself, both
physically and mentally, for a meditation experience.
The physical body is the means by
which we interact and communicate with our natural environment. The body is the
vehicle through which we are able to sense the energy fields that surround us
at all times and it is only by being aware of the messages that our bodies send
us that we can respond appropriately to our environment. Consider, for example,
how often when you walk into a room how you immediately are attracted to some
people while you are "pushed" by others. What you are responding to
are the "vibes" in the room that your body has sensed. Your body has
no preconceived ideas about how to feel - it simply senses what is actually
present.
So many of us instead of responding to our body's
signals, react instead according to our mental state and/or personality.
Arrogance, anger, ego and jealousy are all personality related (mental
attitude) and usually result in our taking inappropriate actions. The
physical body; however, is capable of responding only with the truth of
what it senses from the environment. The physical receptors in the body do
not know such things as anger, frustration, and impatience and as such can
only transmit "uncorrupted" information to us. It is therefore important
for us to learn how to listen to our bodies instead of our heads
(personalities).

principles are still very much valid today.
